It was an early start to get organised for the civil ceremony which was held in Islington Town Hall. The taxi arrived at 10 and there was a bouquet and buttonhole to make beforehand. 

Pauline did an excellent job of the bouquet with some minor assistance from Jen and me. I managed an adequate job of Craig’s buttonhole. 

We had some initial photos outside with Pauline as Sarah, Hamish and Yama (JenY’s dad) arrived separately by Tube. 

The celebrant was lovely. Very welcoming and she made a real effort to make the very administrative service seem intimate. They have also done a lovely job of the room which is very elegant, as is the whole building. 

Afterwards Jen took more great photos of the wider group, including some on a timer with the phone mounted on a tripod. They came out well. 

We had a short walk down to Fredericks, which is an elegant restaurant.  We had a table under the trees outside and it was really lovely, as were the food and wines. 

Afterwards we had a stop at Boots. It is probably the most visited shop for our crew in the whole of London. 

Then back home via the Tube to watch the football.

Most people had short naps and later we had salmon bagels which were delicious.
