We set off reasonably early to walk up to this fortress park place where the views are great. It was hot. We stopped at a cafe near the port and had a coffee and croissant and went to the restaurant that was recommended which is on the other side of the port. It’s not that far to walk but it was hot!

Around the corner from the port is this lift that takes you up to the top of the hill. It was closed so we did the 600 steps.

By the time we came down, the lift was open. Go figure. The views were fantastic.

We had a walk around the town, found a nice cafe where we were below a fan and enjoyed Nicoise salads and cold drinks.

After a bit of a wander we caught the bus back. The bus appeared to be free. The machine wouldn’t accept our payment options and no one else seemed to be paying. It dropped us off almost outside he hotel.

Later we were going to catch the bus to dinner at Bistro Le Porte but the time kept getting later and later for when it was due so we just walked and it was quite nice exercise.

The food was fantastic. I had the monkfish and it is probably the nicest fish dish I’ve ever tasted.

Again we walked home and it was a bit cooler. Still plenty of people out and about though.
