We had a leisurely start and then a swim in the excellent pool. It was bliss.

In the afternoon we took a trip to the supermarket. The others had warned us that there is no obvious order to the supermarket but it had to be experienced in order to fully appreciate the randomness of layout. Having said that, you can purchase just about anything necessary for daily life – if you have at least an hour and are willing to try out your French on the checkout ladies to locate stuff.
The hardest part was figuring out how to access the car park. Once we’d sorted that out, it was plain sailing.
We had decided to walk down to the beach and dine in one of the beachside cafes. We are staying at a beachside town called L’lle-Rousse. It was a beautiful evening so walking down was very pleasant.

It was a seafood restaurant and the food was amazing. They bring you the fish and you share the larger ones with friends.
There are different sauce options (we chose the lemon butter sauce) then they come around to show you the fish carcass without fillets so you can see that you’ve not paid for fish that you don’t eat. You pay for the fish by weight. After dinner I was tempted with the profiterole, which was enormous and very yum. Both Craig and Pauline ended up helping me with the dessert thankfully. The climb back up the hill wasn’t too bad although we still have to think twice about where the cars are coming from.
