We waited for our taxi along the street a bit as our building in on just a walking part that has steps.

Our Airbnb host booked us a taxi for 11 am and she arrived on time and in a vehicle big enough. We were able to get a very nice slice of heated Spanish omelette and coffees to eat at the restaurant in the station before we faced the queue for security screening. We are getting the hang of Spanish rail travel now. Got onto the train fine and found our seats in the first carriage.

It was about 2 hours from Granada to Cordoba and we found a taxi at the other end which delivered us to our accommodation. We are in the former Jewish quarter in the heart of the historic centre of Cordoba.
At first we were uncertain of where to go. The taxi driver pointed to this iron gate and we went through after some other people. It appeared to be part entrance to a courtyard and part underground car park. We were further confused when there is a hotel at the end of the courtyard. Turns out we are in a ground floor apartment just around from the hotel and our host arrived to find us and let us in. She lives next door.

It’s a lovely apartment and will be just what we need for 3 nights. There are 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms plus a well equipped kitchen (even supplied with laundry liquid) and lounge.

Barb had a walk around and Mike and I recovered from the heat and our germs.

I’m on the improve but Mike is getting a sore eye and still has an occasional cough.
We went around the corner to a recommended tapas bar and restaurant. The restaurant didn’t open until 8pm so we went to the tapas bar for a drink. I thought I’d have bubbles but the waiter didn’t understand so I got inventive and asked for cava, thinking it’s like the Spanish equivalent to Prosecco. It’s not. It was bubbly and drinkable (just). Beer, soft drinks and wine are safer.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Mike and I had the steak with vegetables and Barbara had acorn fed pork. It looked more like beef steak than pork but was nice anyway apparently. Acorn fed pork seems to be a ‘thing’.
