Today was Barb’s last day so she had a quiet morning and mooched some shops before heading to the airport.
The Forrets got rental bikes and set off for the eastern bays where we were going to have brunch. It was unbelievably hot biking and the bikes were pretty basic. No gears and variable seat positions! It was a fun way to see a lot of Singapore though, and all on bike paths.
We were well and truly ready for food and cold drinks when we got to our destination. The total cycle was 14.5km, mostly along the flat, thank goodness.

They are redeveloping the whole eastern side of the bay so it will be a large public space like Gardens by the bay. There is a lot of construction at present.

The area has lots of heritage buildings that are being beautifully restored.

There are also lots of cool murals on walls.

That evening there were more cards and some tv, while Craig and Mike played chess.
The at 9pm we set out for this cocktail bar called Atlas. It is in this truly splendid building that has been styled totally in Art Deco. The cocktail bar is in what was formerly the lobby to an office building. It’s amazing and they do some great cocktails.

Outside there are heaps of Daliesque sculptures. Quite surreal.

We had a fabulous time. Two cocktails each was definitely the limit 🤣
